These characatures were used in a television promo for M*A*S*H.

Each character appeared full screen by themselves with a cartoon word balloon matching the spoken dialogue taken from sound clips from various episodes. Throughout the promo the characters had a discussion with each other between video clips of the show. These were used to produced a few different promos that ran over a period of time.

These sketches were video captured and colorized in a video paint box system. Once that step was completed I created a simple animation that made their mouths open and close. I ran the animation by hand while listening to the audio. So I also have experience as a "video ventriloquist" of sorts.
