What
motivates our volunteers?
Over
1,000 people have served in a volunteer ministry position
at The City Mission over the last year. Why do they do it?
Do they have too much time on their hands? Does it earn them
bonus points with God? What motivates people to get involved
in the compassionate outreaches of The City Mission?
An
accurate understanding of what Christ has done for us is the
foundational motivation for compassionate ministry. Jesus
paid the price for the forgiveness of our sins through His
death on the cross. For this we are indebted to Him. Our response
is holy living and service, both out of obedience and gratitude.
Through the Holy Spirit, He gives us the desire and power
to step into effective service. This is the secret behind
the relentless efforts of those who are making an impact through
the ministries of The City Mission!
